[SiH] Iemura- Unrespected

Dear Mother,

It goes like this:

1.You make a claim.
2.I make clear my disagreement with your claim and then form an opposing one of my own.
3.You back up your claim with more detailed evidence.
4.I back up my claim similarly.
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 as necessary until an agreement is achieved.

It does not go:

1.You make a claim.
2.I make clear my disagreement with your claim and then form an opposing one of my own.
3.You insult me and then use fallacious logic to back up your claim.
4.I call you on your bullshit and return to arguing my point.
5.You insult me again and then change the subject to make me look bad when you realize I am correct but refuse to admit that you were wrong.
6.I try to ignore your diversion and return to the original argument.
7.You pretend that I am insulting you personally and also that the first argument never happened and that we have been arguing the second the entire time.
8.I concede to your second argument with the condition that your first was incorrect.
9.You tell me that you "don't feel like fighting about this" and refuse to speak for the next several minutes because you have now "won."

Just in case you were wondering.

Calling the father and then taking a nap. Maybe I'll be in a better mood once I wake up.

In Summary?

I want to start with an apology. These last few days have been faildays when it comes to tags. Friday I was preparing for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday I was... busy, shall we say?... And then yesterday and today, I've been buried under schoolwork and actual work to the point that I have barely been able to even look at logs. So, to anyone I owe tags to, I'm sorry. Hopefully tomorrow I can do some writing, but I'm not sure if I'll actually have time.

That said... this weekend was definitely all win. Went up to see Cat and Mei, and everything was so awesome! I had so much fun! (Even at the drag show |D) Good company, good food, good movies, and good, uh... card games? (that poor little beekeeper... he's so depressed and lonely looking ;.; he needs a good woman and/or man to make him happy or make him peanut butter porkchops) It was really over too quick for my liking, and I can only hope that both of you sexy ladies had at least half as much fun as I did. If only that whole reality thing hadn't stepped in with its "class" and "job" and "6 hour drive." Whoever thought those were good ideas needs to be punched several times... Anyway, this definitely has me pumped about possibly seeing other MSers (and repeats of the same ones). I'll definitely have to look into some of the cons, as this seems a likely place to meet up in my opinion. Any suggestions on specifics?

So... yeah. Thanks for inviting me up, for making time for me, and for just generally being awesome. You two would totally be invited down to Tennessee... if you actually had ways to transport yourselves |D

Fine Fine Fine

Finally? Took long enough, right? For MS and SiH...

Trust Meme. Comment with your characters and I'll rank 'em on a scale of 1 to 10 of how much my characters trust them. 10 being "I would trust you with my life" and 1 being "lol no get away from me backstabber".

New Years!

Okay! I know I'm a little late on this New Years stuff, but I decided today that I'm going to have some New Years Resolutions. The only problem is... I can't think of any good ones. So, I'm leaving it up to you, those that have my page friended, to pick it for me. Give me as many resolutions as you want and make them as special as you want, and I will try to pick at least one that I will stick to for as long as possible. Well, what are you waiting for? Tell me what to do this year!

Twice in one day! Go me!

Okay, when I said I wanted to try updating more often, I didn't figure that to mean I'd be updating again tonight, but something has changed that. Yesterday I had to chose between visiting family on my mom's side and family on my dad's side. Since I don't see my dad all that often, I decided to go with him. Well, I just found out that I got a stocking from my step-dad's parents that my mom forgot to mention to me until now, so I immediately started digging through it to see what little goodies I received. Fun times! Crazy stuff ahead!

It's been a long time...

Not much to report, really. I just decided to try to get back into the habit of updating occasionally. For now, I'm just lying in bed with a special Boxing Day migraine. I would normally use this time stuck in bed to enjoy the wonderful new toys that Father Christmas has brought me... Unfortunately, all of them but my new iPod (which I have cleverly named "Roger, the iPod") require me to leave the house in order to put them to use, and both the sound of Roger, the iPod and the bright screen of Steve, the laptop are making the headache worse, forcing me to only pick the computer up for a few minutes at a time with a good portion of time inbetween.

Side-note: I could have sworn that "inbetween" was a word, but Spellcheck assures me that I am wrong (but gives no options with which to replace it). But then again, Spellcheck also says that "Spellcheck" is not a word. I don't know. Perhaps my migraines are simply growing out of the spelling portion of my brain? Or simply the part that tells me where to put hyphens. (And just so you know, I misspelled "hyphens" on my first try... though I didn't misspell "misspelled" or "misspell.")

In any case, you might be lucky enough to catch me online for a few minutes today, though it likely won't be any longer at once. I'm hoping that this will clear up before it gets too late tonight. These things are always terribly skilled at keeping me from sleeping... even more so than the usual insomnia.

Hopefully this somewhat upbeat (or so I'm shooting for) journal entry will inspire more sympathy than pity. I like to know that people care about me. But look down upon me? ...not so much. Ah, well. Go forth, my pretties and wish me back into good health! And perhaps strike up some sort of deal with your respective deities to exchange my comfort for loyalty, or offerings, or perhaps souls... though not mine. I'm not allowed to sell it again... not after last time... And besides, it's still on loan to the Smithsonian.
